Well looks like a new year has started and I've found my blog again.
Update since last here:
- Played plenty of RPG’s
- Had my local store close down
- Started the Strahd campaign, still in progress
- Just started the storm kings thunder campaign
- Found that PbTA games are awesome and really want to play more
I'm looking to really double down on making some of my having stuff available online.
So that means two blog posts a year.
I've got a friend wielding the whip to ensure that things get written, so those will in due course make their way here.
So I'm keen to put more stuff for the fade away world up here as I feel that as a campaign setting it potentially has much to offer. It's also all the fun of world building and given its a purely setting I can easily adapt some rule systems to work in fade away. I'm thinking specifically DND 5e and dungeon world.
I might throw in some stuff for Fate core and the cypher system, but really is like to concentrate and not sheaf things to thin. I did consider Pathfinder for about five minutes then looked at the rule books and all the third party material that already exists and then decided “perhaps not”.
I’d like to keep some write ups of the campaign's here as well so that I can reflect on what's going well what doesn't work so well, make me a better DM.
The other thing I would like to pursue as a project is to get younger folks into RPG's it's something I've touched on in previous articles. I thought that the adventurers league would be a good gateway into RPG's but I found that timing wise it just didn't work out that way. A friend was looking at doing something at the local library's youth space for kids and RPG's, which didn't work out due to funding issues, but we haven't given up on the idea.
So this year may, just may be the year I post more than an article or two a year.
We'll see.
